A Story for Architects, Engineers, and Construction Professionals: In January, 2009 Autodesk moved into its new Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) Solutions Division headquarters in Waltham, Massachusetts. The headquarters building project was an opportunity for Autodesk to implement several new trends in the building industry, including integrated project delivery (IPD), sustainable design, and the technology underpinning all of them – building information modeling (BIM). This session will highlight this real-life, Autodesk project. You'll learn how Autodesk used BIM principles and an integrated project delivery process to realize a consistent, coordinated exchange of information among all project stakeholders, resulting in a final design that is both efficient and sustainable. We'll demonstrate how Revit helped the Architect to update design changes and reflect them throughout all design views. You’ll learn how AutoCAD Civil 3D enabled Civil Engineers to deliver their projects faster and with reduced errors, and hear how using our integrated BIM model and Navisworks software allowed the project team including Civil, MEP, Structural Engineers, and Contractors to visualize their designs and communicate more efficiently and accurately. We'll also show how the Owner and Developer benefited from early design decision making with BIM, and discuss the in-process design visualization tools that helped to leverage BIM quickly and effectively. This session is geared to AutoCAD or AutoCAD Architecture users looking for simple ways to begin implementing Revit Architecture in their workplace. Even if you're already using Revit Architecture, you'll learn new, cost-effective ways to get the most out of this robust software. We'll show you tips on creating families and templates, working with consultants, training strategies and much more! Whether you're just beginning to explore Revit Architecture or currently working with Revit, you'll learn new ways to shave time and effort off of the implementation process. Join us and learn how the latest release of Revit Architecture can be implemented easily, and make your office more productive than ever! Design visualization plays an integral role in improving AEC efficiencies by allowing architects, designers, engineers, and contractors to better convey design intent, analyze various project scenarios, present photorealistic project renderings to owners and the public, and even implement sustainable design and building elements earlier in the process when changes are easier to make.
